Uddeholm Tooling launches new plastic moulding steel

Large moulds require special steel grades with excellent hardenability in order to provide a high degree of toughness after heat treatment. Therefore, Uddeholm Tooling recently launched VIDAR 1 ESR that is especially suitable for big moulds. The material is easy to machine and achieves the requested toughness in heat-treated condition. This gives the customer more safety because the mould is better protected against unexpected failures. VIDAR 1 ESR completes the Company’s product range for plastic moulding steel.
